IN THE MAYAN TRADITION IT IS BELIEVED THAT THERE ARE NOT 4 BUT 5 ELEMENTS.

In our earthly existence, the four elements,  Fire, Earth, Air & Water, sustain life. But the Mayans believe in an intrinsic fifth element - the Spirit, present throughout the universe.

Cacao plays a pivotal role in this narrative. According to the creation story, humans were made from corn, with its four colors symbolizing both human diversity & the spectrum of skin tones. However, there was a concern that humans might lose sight of life's true essence, forget to recognize the spirit in all things & follow the destructive path of past civilizations.

To ensure our empathy & that the inner spirit remained awakened, 'kakaw' was bestowed upon us as a sacred elixir.

This gift of cacao, has served as a timeless connection to our inner spirit & a pathway back to harmony. The four corn colors align with the four elements, while sacred cacao embodies the FIFTH ELEMENT.
